A pressing need for environmental action

We recognise the severity of the environmental crisis facing our planet and the pressing need for action. As responsible members of the global community, we have set ambitious climate targets and are actively seeking solutions to reduce our footprint, both in our operations and across our value chain.

Carbon neutrality and climate action

Our approach focuses on maintaining carbon neutrality in our direct operations, and ensuring all electricity used across our global sites is sourced from 100% renewable energy – produced either through on-site solar panels and wind turbines or through renewable electricity certificates.

Beyond reduction, we actively remove carbon from the atmosphere by planting millions of trees within our value chain. We aim to plant 3.4 million trees by 2030.

Responsible water stewardship

Puratos aims to be water balanced by 2030. We aim to achieve this by constantly seeking ways to minimise freshwater withdrawal at our production sites, and through advanced wastewater treatment.

Waste management

Our primary objective is to send zero waste to landfill across the group by 2030, prioritising waste prevention and maximising recycling. This commitment extends to the active prevention of food waste – we strive to minimise waste within our own facilities, while providing innovative solutions that help our customers extend product shelf life and freshness, reducing food waste further down the value chain.
